The technological devices are proving useful in all sorts of ways, but there’s a dark side to their use according to new information
More and more British women are reportedly under threat from peeping toms using DRONES to spy on them .
The illegal use of the technology has increased tenfold in just three years – and apparently they’re being used for seedy puposes.
And those who are captured in various states are then facing the humiliation of having their image shared online on porn websites.
The shock news comes following a Freedom of Information request which reveals that “voyeur clips” are all over the internet, and those who appear on them may not even know it.
Those who spot drones have made complaints, which are on the increase.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary received five such reports in 2013, but from January to September 2015, the figure increased to 49, reports the Daily Star.
Recently a drone has caused controversy for colliding with the Flying Scotsman, while a Boeing 777 over Heathrow had another near miss.
The use of drones is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority , which states: “When you fly a drone in the UK it is your responsibility to be aware of the rules that are in place to keep everyone safe.
“Make sure you can see your drone at all times and don’t fly higher than 400 feet.
“Always keep your drone away from aircraft, helicopters, airports and airfields.
“Use your common sense and fly safely; you could be prosecuted if you don’t.
“Drones fitted with cameras must not be flown within 50 metres of people, vehicles, buildings or structures or in over congested areas or large gatherings such as concerts and sports events.”
