ATLANTA — The U.S. Association of Unmanned Aerial Videographers (UAVUS) is the largest
association of professional unmanned aerial vehicle operators in the United States. With more than 5,500 members who are leaders in the fields of aerial cinematography, precision
agriculture, infrastructure inspection, real estate marketing, and search and rescue; UAVUS
knows that training and flight safety is paramount and has partnered with industry-leading
UAVGroundschool.com to provide FAA Part 107 test preparation for its members.
In 2013 UAV Ground School launched as the country’s first dedicated FAA Part 107 UAV
Ground School program (http://www.uavgroundschool.com). In recent months UAVGS has
experienced explosive growth from students and companies like UAVUS wanting quality
instruction for its members.
The UAV Ground School program is produced by the nation’s pilot education leader Gold Seal,
who has prepared over 45,000 private pilots for their FAA Knowledge Test.
UAVGroundschool.com is taught by FAA certified instructors and uses FAA-compliant materials that are presented in an online interactive multimedia format allowing students to learn at their own pace. Built-in testing with real FAA test questions, an extensive documentation library, and flash card quizzes complement the program. The program is created specifically for those wanting to become a professional UAV/drone operator and wishing to gain full FAA certification.
In the month of August 2016, UAVGS student registrations passed the 1,000 mark
FAA testing center in the United States. Passing the FAA Knowledge Test and becoming a legal and safe operator gives graduates a major leg up as commercial UAV uses continue to explode.
While attending InterDrone, Bob Gonsalves, President & CEO of UAVUS said, “UAV Ground
School, produced by Gold Seal, is the best online resource we’ve found for UAV operators
preparing for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test and it’s especially useful for UAV operators that have limited general aviation knowledge. The website is intuitive, the cost is affordable, and the folks that created UAV Ground School truly have the best interest of commercial UAV operators at heart.”
Cliff Whitney, COO of UAVGS recently stated, “I am extremely happy to partner with UAVUS.
Their 5,500-plus members are leaders in Remote Pilot Operations that span many industries. As an aircraft pilot and longtime UAV/drone remote operator, I am dedicated to providing proper training and safe operations. I am happy that UAVUS has recognized our program and sees the value it can provide to their members. By the end of September, there should be over 5,000 approved Remote Pilot Operators in the USA and I’m proud that a large majority of them are our graduates.”
